The difference between the La Pavoni base is: 

32412045 and 2241001041 comes down to the generation of your espresso machine and how the boiler locks into the base. Both are genuine chrome-plated replacement bases for domestic lever machines like the Europiccola and Professional, but they are not directly interchangeable unless you are also replacing your boiler. 

Pavoni 32412045: The Post-2008 Standard Base

• Mounting Design: It secures to the machine via a bottom-access center screw located completely underneath the base (hidden beneath the plastic under-base tray). This design eliminated the old pre-2000 top-side flange screw to prevent water leakage and rust.
• Boiler Compatibility: It features a smooth inner lip for standard flange ring mounting and does not have alignment holes for anti-rotation pins. 

1. Buy the 2241001041 if your current machine was made after 2019 and your boiler body has matching locator pins underneath it.
2. Buy the 32412045 if your machine was made between 2008 and 2019 and lacks these pins. (Note: If you own a pre-2008 boiler and must use the 2241001041 because the 32412045 is out of stock, it will physically fit the old boiler, but the three pin holes will remain open and visible around the base of the collar).
